Eastern Howard School Corporation has a strong tradition in the practical application of educational technology use with staff and students.  Known as a leader in the 1:1 movement, Eastern has previously received Apple Distinguished School status.  All candidates will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Ability and skills in record keeping, organizing schedules, and meeting deadlines
  • Willingness to respond as needed in emergencies
  • Possess core technical knowledge and skills to evaluate vendor performance, problem solve technology issues, and develop strategic and service plans
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in technology, preferably schools
  • Knowledge and experience using technology to support student learning
  • Experience working directly with students, teachers, and administrators
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, management or a technology field; master’s preferred
  • Experience with building construction/renovations and coordination of infrastructure planning, installation and commissioning of new systems
  • Experience with issuing RFP or RFQ for managed technology services (MSP) and evaluation of proposals
  • Experience with E-rate and other governmental funding sources
  • Experience writing competitive grants
  • Develop a balanced approach of meeting building needs while leading/managing the technology team

  • Lead Eastern in securing 100% of non-competitive technology funding available for schools
  • Lead Eastern in capturing a wide range of competitive funding sources
  • Lead, innovate, and maintain Eastern’s technology vision/goals
  • Directory Services – Active Directory, Google Integration, Clever
  • Networking – Ruckus wired and wireless systems
  • 1:1 Devices – K-12 iPads and teacher/administrator iPads/Macbooks
  • Mobile Device Management System – Filewave
  • Learning Management System – Canvas
  • Endpoint Protection – CrowdStrike Falcon
  • Data center – Vmware with a mix of Windows and Linux servers
  • Business Computer Systems – Windows environment
  • Student/Business Management System – Skyward
  • Student/Staff Web filtering – LightSpeed Relay
  • Google Integration of Gmail, Drive, and common apps
  • Phone Systems – NEC
  • Intercom Systems – Bogen Nyquist
  • State and Federal reporting
