Chamber University - CONDUCTING EFFECTIVE MEETINGS

Meetings!! All groups and organizations hold meetings. Why do organizations have meetings and why are some meetings more productive, more efficient, and more effective than others. There are some basics that can help direct the outcome of meetings so that time is well spent, action is taken, and all feel they have been a part of the process. Greater Kokomo Chamber University's Conducting Effective Meetings session will focus on: • Rules and roles for meeting leaders, facilitators, recorders, and participants • Preparing, conducting, and evaluating meetings • Meeting Logistics – Setting the framework for Successful Meetings • Purpose and value of an agenda – Your Time Management Tool • Meeting Ground Rules – Who sets them and what are they? • Other tips for Effective Outcomes The presenter will be Jan Bailey, who has been employed by Ivy Tech Community College for 25 years. For the College, she has held roles as instructor, division chair, student affairs dean, executive dean of the Logansport campus, and currently serves as Executive Dean of Workforce and Economic Development. She has a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University and a master's degree from Ball State University in Business Education. She has served on several statewide committees and regional committees for the College. Her home is in Carroll County where she lives with her husband, Darrell. They own and operate a small meat and produce business as well as a catering business. Registration will begin 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided. Alliance stakeholders in five of the six investment levels (President's Diamond Circle, President's Club, Executive, Visionary, and Innovator) make reservations accordingly; others will be charged $25.
