About Us
The Kokomo Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission is a 501(C)3 organization whose mission is to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by advancing his legacy of peace, freedom and equality by locally establishing a memorial to focus public attention and identifying with King's values and visions. The group's overall goal is to improve the culture and quality of life for area residents using King's ideologies and principles. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial commission currently is focusing on improving the number of people in Howard County achieving higher education levels by providing higher education scholarships to area high school students.
