Provide daily nursing, toileting, and transferring assistance to all persons served within adult day programming. Assist in dispensing medications and providing basic first aid treatment as needed to all persons served within adult day programming. Provide and/or assist with providing toileting and restroom assistance to all persons served. Provide and/or assist with providing transferring assistance to all persons served within adult programming. Provide transferring assistance and supervision as needed with all breaks including, but not limited to designated break times, smoke breaks, and lunch break for all persons served within adult day programming. Be committed to providing a safe environment for all persons served. Must be physically capable of assisting with feeding and toileting of individuals served, transferring clients, lifting up to 50lbs without assistance, using a lifting device, standing, bending, and performing medical duties. Communicate openly and cooperate in a flexible manner with all agency staff to ensure quality of services. Follow all agency and departmental division policies and procedures. Provide direct care as needed. When providing direct care, display patience in all situations dealing with persons served. Speak in even, positive, and personal tone of voice at all times. Appropriately respond to person served behavior via verbal and/or physical intervention based on the needs of the persons served. Strictly maintain confidentiality of all persons served. Able to work independently as well as in group situations. Adhere to policies and procedures of the agency. Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency within division. Portray a positive attitude that maintains a customer and co-worker satisfaction level that limits adverse situations or complaints. Promote agency philosophies, generating team spirit and creating and maintaining an environment that fosters employee satisfaction, maximizes productivity and profitability. Attendrequest related training as authorized. Potential exposure to bodily fluids, pests, contagious pathogens, and/or bed bugs. Possible exposure to emotionally upset individuals.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. CNA preferred. Must have or be capable of receiving current CPR, First Aide and CPI certification. Must be capable of passing Medication Administration Training. Be able to prioritize multiple job functions and coordinate routine responsibilities with spontaneity. Maintain a valid Indiana driver's license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with Medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier. Must possess and maintain reliable transportation that meets state requirements for transporting persons served.
